Pomrenke Mining co-owner Shawn Pomrenke confirmed in July 2022 that he had dropped the plans to rebuild the Tuvli 160, which he called the Mega Dredge, due to the costs involved. The Tuvli 160 was featured in season 10 of Bering Sea Gold, and Pomrenke said that the dredge was no longer needed due to changes in the gold mining industry.
Shawn was stabbed in the back during a bar fight and taken to the hospital for a few days. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The cause of Steve’s death has not been announced at this time, and we ask that the family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held for Steve on May 28, 2021 at 2:00pm at the First United Methodist Church in Fairbanks, Alaska. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Steve’s memory.
