It is with great sadness that we learned that Shawn Pomrenke has decided not to rebuild the Tulvi 160, more commonly known as the Mega Dredge. This massive dredge was featured on season 10 of Bering Sea Gold and was a favorite among viewers. Unfortunately, the costs associated with rebuilding the dredge were just too high for Pomrenke Mining. We hope that someday Shawn will change his mind and be able to bring the Mega Dredge back to life.
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steve Pomrenke, who passed away on May 21, 2021. Steve was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The cause of Steve’s death is not yet known, but his family has asked for privacy at this difficult time. A funeral service will be held on May 26, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Steve’s memory.
