It looks like Andy Kelly and Shawn got into quite the altercation at the harbor in Nome. Shawn was threatening to call the police, so Andy got up close and personal with him. He then yelled at Shawn and choked him, leading Andy to hit him in the face and push him into a nearby boat.

After her father’s death, she married and had four children. In 1975, she and her husband moved to Chatanika, where he worked in the gold mines.
In the late 1970s, Myrtle began working as a fish processor at the Red Salmon Cannery in nearby Port Valdez. It was there that she met and befriended George Plouffe, a Canadian prospector who had come to Alaska in search of gold. Plouffe taught Myrtle the basics of prospecting, and in 1980, she staked her first claim on Anvil Creek.
